10WEEK VIRTUAL CREATIVE WRITING PROGRAM
Providing middle and high school aged students with a safe space to develop social emotional skills through creative arts
n a time where so much has been taken away from so many, it is essential that we create spaces to give back to those who need it the most. This generation is one of the most creative and intelligent generations
I
ever, yet they are also the least likely of all generations to report having good or satisfactory mental health, according to the American Psychological Association. Despite these findings, today’s youth are already the most creative and entrepreneurial. So, to truly serve them we must both meet them both where they are and provide them with what they need.
The Youth Writer’s Camp will utilize the methodology of Arts-Based Research (ABR), which has created new ways of investigating and representing the human experience. The fundamental element of ABR is that the speaking subject becomes central in the research text. In addition, this approach is appreciated because it allows the audience to experience the emotional impact of the work.
Our program provides continuous opportunities
for healthy emotional expression within a safe and supportive community. Our goal is to not only help young people cope through writing, but also to motivate them to develop their own streams of revenue.

emotional health outcomes. However, we understand that our efforts to positively impact the mental and emotional health of this current generation won’t reach maximum effectiveness unless we have the support of the entire community. THIS IS WHY WE ARE REACHING OUT TO YOU!
Our free Youth Writer’s Camp will:
teach social emotional learning practices to help students manage emotions, as well as skills to gain clarity and improve communication
help students tell their stories and create their on chapbooks as products of their truth
lead students through the process of becoming published writers, selling their chapbooks, and showcasing their poetry
provide students with 20 copies of their published chapbook to sell
Your partnership would create a space for these students to complete their writing compilations.
Every $200 promises the publication of 5 books. Your generosity is more than appreciated and valued. I’d love to sit down with you and discover a way to create a mutually beneficial partnership. I’m sure you are busy so even 30 minutes of your time would be truly appreciated.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your generosity.

speaker, poet, author, and minister. Burdened by the brokenness and mistreatment of this disenfranchised generation, Brandon decided to mesh creativity and cultural engagement to uplift and capture the creative gifts of this present age, hence Brandon founded Poetically Adorned Apparel and When Thunder Speaks, LLC.
Growing up in an environment that constantly stifled his voice, Brandon personally understands the effects of repressing emotions, avoiding vulnerability, and devaluing self. Along the journey, Brandon found healing in utilizing creative outlets that gave voice to his pain and reality. He has made it his life mission to create safe spaces for others.
